Farming Tips

Farming Tips

Many WaO players use one or more "farms" to help generate resources which can be "harvested" without paying any taxes or losing any troops.  This is a great way to help your castle grow and give you an excuse to spend EVEN MORE time playing WaO!

Here are the most basic things you need to know about farming:

1. Every Facebook or gamer account you use within the game can be used to bind up to 2 accounts (per realm) So it is very simple to create one "main" and one "farm"

2. When you create a new castle, it may not be in the same realm as your existing one. In this case you will need to use your free elite teleport to move to the correct realm fairly quickly.  There are several limitations, but the main ones are these: a) within 2 days. b) castle level must be below 8. c) you must not have accumulated more than 2 million resources.

3. Your farm should be a member of an alliance OTHER than the one your main is in.  Best if you have more than one farm, or an ally's farm in the same alliance nearby. This will allow you to "reinforce" the other castle and remove your beast and troops while harvesting.

4. Do not recruit any golems. (or, recruit 100 golems to complete the chapter quest, then dismiss them.)

5. Recruit primarily T2 Dragon riders.

6. Regardless of where your farm's alliance is located, your farm should be as close to your main as possible--a 2-4 hour gathering trip is not affected by a 10 minute march as much as having to walk for several minutes to attack your farm when you need to harvest.  Harvesting often takes 4-5 attacks, so the closer, the better.

7. Your farm is a FARM, don't try to make it strong, don't expect it to withstand an attack, it is made to be attacked (by you) and if you do it right, an attack from an enemy will only cost you a small amount of resources.  If you have only T2 and T3 troops inside, it is worth 0 points during a KE.

8. Don't let resources pile up in your farm, keep it clean--stockpile resources in your pack and mailbox and pull them out right before harvesting if you need them.

9. C15 is the minimum size for a farm.  You should try not to harvest from it very much until it reaches that level.  (of course you can if you need to, it is yours after all.)

10. If you have several farms close together and you want to try to defend them instead of just keeping them clean, bump a few up to c16 and turn them into sheepdog farms.  Build them up with t6 troops and use them to reinforce the other farms when attackers arrive.  Just be aware that these will also be prime targets for KE since they are worth points, but are still relatively weak.

Happy Farming!
