New Realm

Starting in a New Realm

Hey, this is a GAME, it is supposed to be fun!  When a realm becomes dominated by a single alliance or faction and those players make playing the game less than fun for everyone else, it might be a good time to take your friends and start up again with your alliance in a new realm!

The process for starting a castle in a new realm is pretty easy--just like creating a new "farm" castle, but instead of teleporting it to be near your home castle, you teleport it to a new realm, probably even on a different planet!

To see other planets and realms, click on your world map, then zoom out (the map icon in the lower right--looks like an old leather map,) then zoom out again by hitting the world icon.  You can then scroll through all the planets and look at any realm by tapping on it.
(UPDATE:  recently a "Realm List" button has been placed on the Account screen that will take you directly to the planets.)

When getting ready to start over in a new realm, coordinate with your friends and allies who want to join you and pick a time to move.  New realms start up every few days, but some of them are dominated by China, so if you want to work in a realm with many other countries, you may want to time your move to hit the non-China dominated realm. You may want to take a chance at building up your castle a bit in your current realm, or in another new realm before teleporting over--you may be able to get in during the first few hours. However, if a new realm doesn't start before your 2 day port window closes, you'll either have to settle for the newest realm, which might already be a few days old at that point, or dump those starter castles and try again.

This has worked for me a couple of times: Watch the new realms appear and log how often that is happening.  Check which ones are China-dominated and which aren't. Then when you have a good handle on the pattern, wait for the next China realm to open, wait an appropriate amount of time after that, then send the all clear to your allies to start their new castles.  Both times I've done this it was approximately 48 hours in between each new realm.  Chinese realms are approximately every other one, but sometimes two in a row will be one way, so you'll need to be a bit flexible.

When building a new castle for the new realm, you should join it to an active alliance so that you can build it up faster using alliance help, but don't build too fast, hit castle level 8 and you can no longer port out of the realm.

Here are the criteria for cross-realm porting:

1. Castle must be level 7 or less.
2. Castle must be less than 48 hours old
3. You must not have acquired more than 2 Million in resources.  This includes resources in crates.

Given these criteria, your strategy should be:

1. build up your castle as quickly to level 7 as you can.
2. Don't gather resources very much.  Use resources from crates primarily and supplement a bit with gathering if needed. (You'll likely only need a bit of wood.)  Save quest rewards for later.  Use "Harvest" skill only when you will be using the resources and not if you are getting close to the 2 Million cap.
3. You don't need to build up your internal farms and sawmills--upgrade only one of each so as not to gain too many resources.  After you get to the new realm, you can build and upgrade the rest.
4. Kill Monsters:  You can get the "first kill" reward in both realms, so if you can kill the first 7 levels of monsters in your original realm, you can immediately get all 7 of those prizes a second time in the new realm. (It is possible to get all the way to level 10, but 7 is a reasonable goal.)

Watch for a new realm to open up and immediately start looking for a landing site for your new alliance and its farms. Once in your new alliance, DONATE, DONATE, DONATE!  Your alliance territory needs to be built up fast, and your farm territories too.  The more everyone donates to alliance tech, the sooner you can build alliance buildings and flags.  Get to Castle level 10 as soon as possible--use the speeds you've saved up in your quest rewards.  You'll need to be C10 to donate gems, build flags, etc. so the more players you have at this level, the sooner you'll be able to grab those precious elite mines!

Happy Gaming!
